BEKIND × NEEMA: how a cultural collaboration is born
Not a co-branding exercise but an alliance of visions: the story of the collaboration between BeKind and NEEMA, from the Pool Day to Neema Fest.
Collaborations in the cultural scene come in two families. There are co-brandings — two logos on the same flyer — and there are alliances of vision, where two projects build together something neither would have made alone.
The collaboration between BeKind and NEEMA belongs to the second family.
Two complementary forces
NEEMA positions itself as the reference festival for contemporary Black music in Italy: it brings editorial depth, a clear positioning and a festival narrative. BeKind brings the other half: the Roman base, the community logic, the experience of building immersive formats that go beyond clubbing.
The result is a collaboration where each does what it does best — and where the audience receives an experience richer than any sum of the parts.
The Pool Day | White Party
The format that made this alliance visible is the "BEKIND × NEEMA – Pool Day | White Party" at the Kalaya Bamboo Experience: a day that starts with pool, sport and wellness, moves through brunch and DJ sets with live sax and percussion, and rises into the total-white evening.
Not a party with a theme, but an official preview of Neema Fest: an explicit bridge between the lifestyle experience of a Roman Sunday and the journey of a festival dedicated to contemporary Black music.
Why it works
Cultural collaborations work when they align three things: programming, visual identity and audience. Here the alignment is evident — the sounds are the same, the aesthetic codes speak to each other, and the communities recognise themselves in one another.
For Rome, the value is even greater: events like this give the city's afro-contemporary scene a direct connection to the national festival circuit, circulating artists, audiences and ideas.
A model, not an episode
BEKIND × NEEMA shows how BeKind understands partnerships: alliances chosen for cultural vision, not commercial opportunity. It's the same principle behind the collaborations with Touch The Wood and Club Scena, and behind the relationship with the venues that host our nights.
If you represent a cultural project, a festival, a brand or a venue and recognise yourself in this way of working, the partners page is the place to start.
